| BASI Level 1 Ski Instructor Course |

Last week I completed the BASI, Level 1 ski instructor course, the entry-level course from which I will be able to expand my ski instructor/coach qualifications as time goes by but which, in the meantime, will enable me to instruct on an indoor slope. Actually, I think it was beneficial to me as a racer and not just in order to gain an instruction qualification because I had to go back over exercises that I hadn't practised for a long time but which I think help with technique generally.  I enjoyed the course but I had forgotten how cold it can get in these indoor slopes and how the lack of daylight can be so depressing - after 5 days locked inside a windowless fridge I was ready to get outdoors and I cannot wait to get back onto a proper mountain! |
