The races didn't get off to a great start for me. In a warm-up run before the first run of the first day I caught a gate in the face in a freak accident and spent the time before the first and second runs being treated in the medical room! It's a very attractive addition to my face, a gash between the bottom of my nose and my top lip - "glued" together and held down with a stera-stip - I'm unlikely to be appearing in photographs any time soon! As far as the racing was concerned, it was a case of "so near, yet so far". Both races were DNFs. On both occasions, the error occurring in the second run and within a handful of gates from the finish. Super-annoying. The pitch of Big Skite at Treblecone is very difficult and even the girls from the Austrian Europa-Cup team were unable to carve a turn on this pitch. Only 15 girls out of 44 starters finished the first race and just 15 out of 40 finished the second race. ![]() On the plus side, it was a lovely, sunny day and the views were amazing! |
